This course covers the classification and basic biology of sea turtles, their life cycle, nesting, and nesting sites in Thailand. It highlights the importance of Thai sea turtles to the ecosystem, humans, and the national economy, the extinction status of sea turtles and current threats such as global warming and marine debris, proper methods for assisting injured or stranded sea turtles for the public and tourists, sustainable sea turtle conservation approaches in Thailand, and ecotourism or water activities that are safe for sea turtles. Finally, it examines the role of veterinarians and researchers in sea turtle conservation and rehabilitation centers in Thailand.
